Join us for the First Year MFA Thesis Show Reception featuring holographic animations, live motion capture projections, and a 2 hour live performance by IMD Technician Ian McDermott . Food will be provided. The exhibit is currently open for viewing.

Please join the IMD Advisory Board to hear from our recent graduates about where they are after college. We will include a virtual option for those who cannot attend in person. Please complete the RSVP form by Tuesday, March 4th, at 5 pm. 

WHAT: Social Impact BuildFest 2026 @ UMD is a weekend-long event where students team up to prototype immersive tech experiences that tackle real-world challenges.

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll design, fabricate, and light up your own custom sign. We’ll cover the basics of 3D printing, Arduino, and addressable LED strips so you can bring your print to life with a soft, programmable RGB glow.
