Independent Study (IMDM399)

Pursuing an Independent Study (IMDM399) offers students an opportunity to work under the guidance of a faculty mentor to design a personalized curriculum allowing students to delve into specialized topics within immersive media design, not otherwise offered at the University of Maryland. This is an opportunity for students to develop and refine their technical skills in programming, 3D modeling, real-time rendering, etc.

All students are encouraged to participate in an independent study during their time in Immersive Media Design. If you are are student interested in pursuing an Independent Study, you will need to contact a faculty member and complete the independent study form once they have agreed to be your mentor for the semester.

Students: once you and your faculty mentor are in agreement on the plan of study, deliverable, and grading procedure, submit the form to your academic advisor no later than the first day of the schedule adjustment period.
