Independent Research (IMDM499)
The purpose of an Independent Undergraduate Research (IMDM499) is to allow undergraduate students to receive credit for conducting research under the mentorship of a faculty member within or adjacent to Immersive Media Design. This course primarily focuses on research—students who are interested in learning a new topic not otherwise covered in coursework offered at the University of Maryland should register for IMDM399 – Independent Study.
If you are are student interested in pursuing Independent Research, you will need to contact a faculty member and complete the independent research form once they have agreed to be supervise you through the semester. The research project can be provided by the faculty advisor, or a project initiated by the student.
Students: once you and your faculty mentor are in agreement on the plan of study, deliverable, and grading procedure, submit the form to your academic advisor no later than the first day of the schedule adjustment period.
